At the conclusion of 2015, DSC appointed Lori Rippstein as VP of Sales & Marketing. This was a win-win situation. Lori’s extensive experience and knowledge has proven to be an asset to DSC’s Sales & Marketing efforts and is crucial for the continued success of DSC and the future of the program. In addition, she gets to bring her family back to Colorado, and specifically Vail Valley where they previously called home.
The Spirit of the West runs in Lori’s blood. Her great grandmother traveled west in a covered wagon as a young girl and ultimately homesteaded in Oklahoma. Lori was born in California, but she had a passion to explore new destinations which brought her to Colorado where she fell in love with the state and her husband. They have two daughters, both born in Colorado, but the pursuit of exploring took her family overseas. Most recently they were in Dubai where they replaced the great outdoors of the mountains with the sand dunes of the Sahara.
Her desire to bring her family back to the Rocky Mountains where the huge blue sky and snow capped mountains are right outside her door is what began the conversation with Kathy Fort Carty and DSC. Lori had worked with Kathy and DSC as a partner in Vail and admired the company values; putting the customer first, a commitment to flawless execution and the destinations in the West. Once it was decided that Lori was the right person to join the DSC team; she packed up her family in 2 suitcases a piece (as their crates from Dubai would take a couple months to make it stateside) and moved back to Colorado where they made it in time to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas. Talk about a magical time in mountains.
We are thrilled to have Lori as part of the DSC family and in a recent conversation Lori expressed, ‘how grateful I am for the opportunity to work with Kathy and the DSC team in a formal capacity. I’m also grateful for the opportunity to pursue my professional growth while at the same time, enjoy all the mountains have to offer with my family.’
