Ted Farrell

As the Vice President & Chief Operating Officer for DSC, Ted Farrell focuses on planning, revenue, costs, profitability, staffing, processes and training that support the operability of the organization.
Hailing from Australia, Ted Farrell brings a diverse background to DSC’s headquarters in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. His varied experiences and interests lend to his unique approach.
In 1973, he started his first job in the United States writing software for ROLM Corporation, a start-up in the Silicon Valley. In his 7-year tenure, the company grew from 27 employees to 7,000 with $800 million in sales. Ted advanced from developer, to sales, to product management and finally in sales management.
When the company went public and was sold, Ted earned valuable experience in creating a whole new marketplace.
Returning to Australia, Ted decided to try his hand as a Wool Grower. He bought a sheep farm with thousands of sheep, and on the side, developed a government taxing software application used by every local government entity in New South Wales.
Eight years later, he sold the farm, created his own software company focused on rural enterprises and later merged his software business with a 150 personal regional accounting firm becoming the technology partner providing consulting, accounting and computer services to local business.
Ted returned to the United States in 1994 and dabbled in real estate before being hired as the Director of Information Systems for Slifer, Smith and Frampton – a billion dollar real estate company in Colorado’s burgeoning resort areas. Immediately, he transformed the way the business operated by putting laptops in the hands of every realtor, creating a valley wide network still in place today, and developed tools, products and software to run the business.
He joined DSC full-time in 2004. His disciplined approach to running the company, with business planning, budgets, financials, and technology have helped DSC maintain consistent growth and positioned DSC for continued growth in the future.
