Named after the natural healing mineral springs, Steamboat Springs and the Yampa Valley were the ancient summer hunting grounds for the Ute Indians. Alpine recreation came to the area in 1914, yet the city has remained true to its ranching and agricultural beginnings, embracing visitors and welcoming them back time and time again.
Yee-haw! This is John Denver’s Colorado. Comfortable and inviting – Steamboat has a true pioneering spirit. No wonder the area has produced more Olympian skiers than anywhere else.

Dust off your boots and move on out to the pedestrian walking village, where local watering holes, restaurants and Colorado style shops await. Ride the gondola or hop on a snow cat pulled sleigh to a mountain top event.
Take in the rich natural beauty of the area with a helicopter tour or a hot air balloon ride. Or, speed things up by zooming a snowmobile up the mountain.
Easily accessible through three different airports, Steamboat Springs is a charming and down home environment for groups.
